Michał Nowicki is an Assistant Professor at Warsaw University of Technology's Institute of Metrology and Biomedical Engineering, part of the Faculty of Mechatronics. His research focuses on magnetic materials, sensor technology, and metrology, with notable contributions to Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI), magnetoelastic sensors, and finite element modeling. He has received multiple awards, including the Rector's Award for scientific achievements (2017-2018) and multiple Golden Chalk Awards for teaching excellence.
Education: PhD in Technology (Mechanical Engineering, 2018). Research interests include magnetic sensor development, stress-dependent material properties, and eddy current tomography. Notable projects include the design of fluxgate sensors, tensile force sensors using amorphous alloys, and metrological systems for calibrating microbalances and piston gauges.
Awards include 1st Degree Individual Award (2019), 1st Degree Team Award (2019), and repeated recognition for didactic achievements. Active in collaborative projects, such as the 2019 team award-winning research on power transformers and magnetic materials.
Lab affiliations include the ESP Lab. His work spans theoretical modeling (e.g., Preisach model adaptations) and experimental validation, with emphasis on industrial applications like robotics, recycling, and aerospace materials.
