Michał Kozorys

Professor Michał Kozorys works at the Faculty of Choral Conducting, Church Music, Artistic Education, Rhythmics and Jazz at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He teaches choral conducting, score reading, and leads the Faculty's Mixed Choir and an instrumental ensemble for student internships. Since 2024, he has served as Vice-Dean (fourth term) and is a member of the Artistic Discipline Council at the academy.

Dr. Kozorys obtained a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting (2012) followed by a habilitation degree (2019). He founded and conducts the Gdańsk Physicians' Choir at the District Medical Chamber and previously served as conductor for multiple ensembles including the Academic Choir of the University of Gdańsk (2006-2011) and Supra Vocalis Ensemble chamber choir (2013-2020).

With his ensembles, he has won over 40 awards at national and international competitions including Grand Prix and Best Conductor awards. His teaching philosophy emphasizes musical sensitivity, emotional interpretation, and ensemble cohesion.
