Dr. Michał Jakub Lipka is a PostDoc researcher in the Quantum Optics Lab led by Prof. Philipp Treutlein at the University of Basel. He holds a PhD from the University of Warsaw (2024), where he conducted research under Prof. Michał Parniak. His academic journey includes a Master's (2020) and Bachelor's (2018) in Physics from the University of Warsaw, and a visiting PhD stint at ICFO, Spain (2022) in Prof. Morgan Mitchell's group.
His research focuses on quantum optics, quantum memories, and ultrafast photonics. Key areas include entanglement distribution, quantum sensing, and advanced imaging techniques using atomic systems. Lipka's work bridges experimental quantum optics with applications in quantum communication and sensing, leveraging atomic vapors and Bose-Einstein condensates for novel technologies.
Notable contributions include super-resolution of ultrafast pulses and hybrid magnetometry systems. He has published extensively in top journals like Physical Review Letters, Optica, and Communications Physics. His research aligns with the lab's broader goals of exploring quantum systems for technological advancements.
