Michał Hurej (born November 21, 1951 in Mierczyce) is a Polish entomologist and Professor at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. He serves as Head of the Department of Plant Protection within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, focusing on integrated crop protection and pest management for seed beet, sugar beet, white mustard, and potato crops.

Professor Hurej specializes in aphidology, studying the biology, ecology, and control of aphids (Aphididae). His ecological framework for pest management in beet crops emphasizes reducing indirect harm to beneficial insects caused by insecticides. He has completed international research internships at Wageningen University (Netherlands), Broom's Barn Experimental Station (UK), and Mississippi State University/Georgia State University (USA) as a Fulbright Scholar.
