Michaël Bauerheim

Mihaël Bauerheim is an Associate Professor at ISAE-SUPAERO (France) and Sherbrooke University (Canada), with additional roles in AI consulting. His research focuses on applying artificial intelligence techniques to fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, including CFD solver acceleration, aeroacoustic simulations, and bio-inspired flow optimization. He holds a PhD in thermo-acoustics from CERFACS/SNECMA (2014) and has held postdoctoral positions at LMFA (France), ETHZ (Switzerland), IMFT (France), and visiting roles at Stanford and Georgia Tech. He leads the DAEP research group and collaborates with institutions like CERFACS, EPFL, TU Munich, and startups like Neural Concept.

Research Interests: Bauerheim develops AI-driven methods for CFD acceleration, aeroacoustic source localization, and flow reconstruction. His work integrates deep learning with high-fidelity simulations (e.g., LES/DNS) to address challenges in combustion chambers, rotor-stator interactions, and bio-inspired aerodynamics. Current projects include the ANR FLOCCON initiative and co-chairing the ANITI HAILSED chair on Hybrid AI for Simulations and Designs.
