Micahlis Iasonides holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School. His professional affiliations include current membership in the Cyprus Medical Association board, prior roles as Secretary of the Professional Association of Private Paediatricians (2005-2008) and Secretary then President of the Paediatric Society of Cyprus (2008-2016).
Dr. Iasonides earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Ioannina and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Research focuses on three primary areas: 1) Genetic and environmental determinants of childhood obesity, 2) Antibiotic effects on commensal intestinal microbiota, and 3) Mutation patterns in Greek-Cypriot populations with Familial Mediterranean fever symptoms. His work bridges clinical pediatrics with translational research in microbiology and genetic epidemiology.
