Michaela Kästl is a Researcher and Doctoral Student in the Department of Modern History at the University of Tübingen, Faculty of Humanities. She is affiliated with the Institute of Modern History and contributes to interdisciplinary research projects such as the Collaborative Research Centers (CRC) 923 'Threatened Orders' and CRC 1070 'Resource Cultures'. Her thesis explored philanthropism and emotional practices in Ernst Adolf Eschke’s education of the deaf (1788–1811), and her publication on Matteo Ricci’s World Map analyzes intercultural encounters through translation cultures and global historiography.
She has contributed to academic discourse through presentations at conferences like the 2nd Jahreskonferenz des SPP 2130 in 2020 and serves as a tutor at Tübingen University's Institute of Modern History. Her work bridges cultural, intellectual, and global history, emphasizing interdisciplinary methodologies.
