Michaela Hodge is a Researcher at Durham University's Department of War Studies, affiliated with the School of Security Studies and Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She holds a dual British-Australian nationality and is a PhD candidate at Durham's School of Government and International Affairs, focusing on the role of moral identity and religion in conflict contexts. Her work emphasizes faith-based participation in peacebuilding and transgressive interreligious dynamics.
As Programme Manager for the SCORE Religion & Peacebuilding initiative and Research & Operations Director of Seek Peace, an NGO supporting faith-motivated peacebuilding, she bridges academic research and practical fieldwork. Her research interests include SDG 16 (Peace, Justice), ethno-national conflicts, and the social consequences of religion.
Previously based in Nigeria for five years, she now leads the Social Consequences of Religion research team. She is part of the Centre for the Study of Divided Societies, exploring global ethno-national challenges. Though no personal articles are listed here, her work contributes to ongoing dialogues like the 2025 seminar on religion's role in peacebuilding.
