Michaela Dinan

Dr. Michaela Dinan is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health and holds leadership roles as Co-Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center and Associate Director for Research Training and Education at the Yale Cancer Center. Her research focuses on leveraging real-world data to examine oncology outcomes, with particular emphasis on access to care, health disparities, and cost-effectiveness of cancer treatments. Dr. Dinan specializes in using econometric and epidemiologic methods to analyze complex healthcare datasets, particularly in the context of emerging cancer therapies.

Recent work highlights trends in opioid prescribing for cancer patients, cost analyses of immunotherapy and targeted therapies, and the role of geographic and socioeconomic factors in treatment disparities. Dr. Dinan collaborates with institutions to advance health equity through evidence-based policy recommendations and training initiatives for early-career researchers.

Her lab's current projects include an NCI-funded study on kidney cancer oral therapy adherence and an ACS-funded effort to develop predictive tools for cancer survivorship outcomes. She also leads institutional efforts to enhance research training programs and diversify the oncology research workforce.
