Michael Wesley Champion

Michael Wesley Champion is an Associate Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, Australian Catholic University. His work bridges late antique Christianity, classical philosophy, and history of emotions, focusing on intersections between theology, rhetoric, and eastern Christian traditions.

Research Interests: Champion explores how ancient philosophical traditions influenced Christian intellectual frameworks in Gaza, particularly through ascetic education and emotional discourse. His work spans Hellenistic violence, Byzantine rhetoric, and Platonic legacy in Christian-Jewish-Muslim contexts.
