Michael Strauss is Professor and Chair of the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. His research focuses on extragalactic astronomy and observational cosmology, utilizing large-scale sky surveys like the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and Hyper Suprime-Cam on Subaru. He studies galaxy distribution, AGN evolution, high-redshift quasars, and connections between galaxy properties and their cosmic environments.
Strauss investigates the large-scale structure of the universe to constrain cosmological parameters, galaxy-environment relationships, and the nature of active galactic nuclei.
