Michael Shapiro is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, with nearly two decades of teaching experience. He coordinates the Undergraduate Internship Program and contributes to academic governance through multiple committees.
Education:
- B.A. in Political Science, Emory University (1978)
- J.D., Emory University School of Law (1981)
His research focuses on constitutional law, legal ethics, and courtroom technology, often analyzing historical and contemporary Supreme Court rulings. He has authored publications on topics such as the right to counsel in municipal courts, criminal procedure precedents, and pedagogical methods in ethics education.
