Dr. Michael Scott is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Flinders University's College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. A sociologist of cultural production and urban cultural economies, he employs classical and contemporary social theory to analyze creative industries and cultural governance.
- PhD in Sociology from the University of Auckland
- Current CHASS-funded project: Creativity and Credit (finance/debt in creative practice)
- Teaches social theory, cultural sociology, and creative industries courses like Creative Cities and Understanding the Music Industry
