Michael Robinson-Dorn is a Clinical Professor of Law and Co-Associate Dean for Experiential Education at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. He is the founding Director of the Environmental Law Clinic, focusing on environmental and natural resources law. Previously, he directed the award-winning environmental law clinic at the University of Washington as an Associate Professor of Law. His practice and research emphasize public lands, cross-boundary environmental issues, and clinical legal education. He earned a B.A. from the University of Victoria and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Education: B.A., Political Science, University of Victoria; J.D., Cornell Law School, cum laude.
Research Interests: Environmental law, natural resources, administrative law, clinical legal pedagogy, and public lands regulation. His work includes advocacy for clients in courts nationwide and teaching courses on climate justice, water law, and natural resources.
Awards: 2011 Bellow Scholar for collaborative research on clinical teaching fellowships. His scholarly contributions include articles in the NYU Environmental Law Journal and University of Washington Law Review.
Labs/Teams: Director of the UCI Environmental Law Clinic, which represents clients on environmental matters. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on projects like the Cadiz water pipeline dispute and ocean acidification governance.
