معرفی
Michael Quist is a Professor of Fisheries Management and Assistant Unit Leader at the Idaho Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, University of Idaho. He holds a Ph.D. (2002) and M.S. (1999) from Kansas State University and a B.S. (1996) from the University of Idaho. His research focuses on fisheries management, applied fish ecology, and community ecology, with particular emphasis on population dynamics, invasive species impacts, and conservation strategies in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.
Research Interests:
- Fisheries Management and Conservation
- Ecology of Large River Systems
- Lake and Reservoir Fish Assemblages
- Aging Techniques and Population Demographics
- Invasive Species Control and Impact Analysis
Key Contributions:
Dr. Quist's work integrates field studies, experimental methods, and ecological modeling to address challenges in fisheries management. Recent studies emphasize population dynamics of sturgeon and steelhead, invasive species mitigation in western watersheds, and validation of aging techniques for accurate fish population assessments.
Grants and Collaborations:
His research is supported by partnerships with federal agencies and state wildlife units, focusing on practical solutions for sustainable fisheries and endangered species recovery.
Labs/Teams:
Active in the Idaho Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, contributing to interdisciplinary projects on aquatic ecosystems and resource management.
