Dr. Michael Popp is the Harold F. Ohlendorf Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Arkansas's Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. He specializes in agricultural economics, resource management, and decision support systems. His career includes academic roles at the University of Arkansas since 1996 and the University of Manitoba (1997–1998). He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics (Colorado State University, 1995), an MBA in Finance (University of Colorado, 1991), and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Information Systems (University of Manitoba, 1990).
Research interests focus on optimizing agricultural practices, including fertilizer management, energy systems, and remote sensing applications. He has developed decision support tools for farmers, such as the Weeds system for integrated weed management and tools for evaluating solar investments and poultry litter utilization.
