معرفی
Michael Piasecki is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering department at City College of New York (CUNY). He is affiliated with the CUNY Environmental Cross-Roads Initiative and the Earth System Science and Environmental Engineering program. His research focuses on hydrologic processes in the Caribbean, sensor network deployment, and sustainable water resources management.
Key research interests include data management systems for environmental observations, hydroinformatics, and interdisciplinary approaches to water security challenges in regions such as Hispaniola. He has extensively studied the hydrology of Lakes Azuei and Enriquillo, leveraging remote sensing, sonar technology, and predictive modeling to understand their dynamics and future trajectories under climate change scenarios.
His publications emphasize the development of interoperable sensor systems, environmental data frameworks, and geospatial analysis tools. Notable contributions include work on FAIR-oriented data acquisition systems, hydrodynamic modeling, and cyberinfrastructure for hydro-meteorological networks.
