Michael Paz

Michael Paz, Ph.D., CMA, is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Purdue University Northwest (PNW). He teaches courses in financial, managerial, and cost accounting, with a focus on creating supportive learning environments for students. His research spans managerial control systems, cost management strategies, and corporate social responsibility (CSR), alongside a unique stream analyzing casino poker operations and tournaments. Prior to PNW, he held roles at Cornell University’s Nolan School of Hotel Administration and worked in finance at GE Money Bank and various nonprofits.

Dr. Paz holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Drexel University, an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island, and a B.A. in Music (vocal performance/history) from Rhode Island College.
