معرفی
Dr. Michael Payne is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at La Trobe University's Bendigo Campus. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Melbourne (2014) and completed his Phase I studies at the Berlin Mathematical School (2009). His research focuses on discrete geometry, geometric graph theory, and combinatorial problems.
Academic positions include Research Fellow at Monash University (2016–2018), Postdoc at the University of Melbourne (2015–2016), and Postdoc at Université Libre de Bruxelles (2014–2015). He is fluent in Spanish and has expertise in combinatorics and discrete mathematics.
Research highlights include work on Steiner tree algorithms, geometric Ramsey theory, and visibility graphs. He has been awarded an ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) from 2016 to 2022. His publications span computational geometry, graph theory, and combinatorial optimization, with a focus on structural and algorithmic aspects of geometric configurations.
