Michael P. Heiskell is an adjunct professor and senior attorney affiliated with Baylor University School of Law, where he teaches courses at the Academy of the Advocate and The School of the Trial. He previously served as a Galveston County Assistant District Attorney and Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Texas. A prominent figure in criminal defense, he has been recognized repeatedly as a 'Super Lawyer' and honored with prestigious awards including the Blackstone Award and Baylor Lawyer of the Year (2022).
His expertise spans trial advocacy, including grand jury litigation, plea negotiations, jury selection, and high-profile case management. He is known for aggressive courtroom strategies and unwavering client dedication. Heiskell’s professional contributions extend to frequent authorship and lecturing on federal and state court practices, particularly in white-collar defense and ethical legal issues.
