Prof. Dr. Michael Oestreich serves as the Executive Director of the Institute of Solid State Physics at Leibniz University Hannover within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. He leads the Nanostructures Section and is a member of the Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering.
His research focuses on Solid State Physics, Nanotechnology, and Quantum Engineering, with particular expertise in quantum mechanical phenomena in complex systems. From 2014 to 2020, he served as speaker for Research Training Group 1991 on 'Quantum Mechanical Noise in Complex Systems,' demonstrating his leadership in this specialized field.
Prof. Oestreich contributes to university governance as a Representative for Professors on both the Admissions Board for Physics and the University Senate.
His laboratory operates within the Institute of Solid State Physics at Leibniz University Hannover, located at Appelstraße 2, Building 3701, Room 021 in Hannover.
