Michael I. Miller is the Bessie Darling Massey Professor and director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), where he also leads the Center for Imaging Science and co-directs the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute. His work focuses on computational medicine, medical imaging, and computational anatomy, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and schizophrenia. Miller has pioneered cloud-based methods for brain image libraries and algorithms, co-founded four startups, and holds over 200 publications and two textbooks. He earned his BS from SUNY Stony Brook (1976) and MS/PhD from JHU (1978/1983).
