Michael Meinzer, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His work focuses on developmental outcomes of youth with ADHD, psychopathology explanations, and tailored service development for adolescents and young adults. He leads projects to increase access to evidence-based mental health services through community partnerships.
Dr. Meinzer holds a B.A. and B.S. from Boston University, an M.S. and Ph.D. from Florida International University, and completed a clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois (License: 071.010075).
His research emphasizes four core areas: (1) ADHD developmental trajectories, (2) comorbid psychopathology mechanisms, (3) intervention efficacy for underserved populations, and (4) community-university collaboration models. A current NIH-funded project (NIMH) examines school-based depression prevention for adolescents with ADHD.
