Michael Martin is an Associate Teaching Professor of Biology at Oxford College, Emory University, where he has been a faculty member since 2017. His work spans research, teaching, and community outreach.

Dr. Martin’s research focuses on the evolution and conservation of biodiversity, with a particular emphasis on freshwater ecosystems and ecological interactions such as food webs and stream health. His outreach initiatives aim to make scientific education accessible to underserved youth, including a preschool children’s show titled Nature Time.
At Oxford College, he chairs the Tree Advisory Committee and contributes to the University Senate Committee on the Environment, supporting initiatives like the Tree Campus award and the Forest Management Plan update.
