Michael Mandel is a Senior Lecturer in Business Communication at the Eller College of Management, University of Arizona. With over two decades of experience in strategic communications, he combines practical expertise with academic rigor through teaching, consulting, and coaching. He serves as Instructional Team Lead for BCOM 314: Business Communication, co-authored three textbooks (Cracking the Code, The Secret Handshake, Stand Out), and chairs the Eller College Faculty Governance Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion since 2021.

His research and practice focus on strategic communication, reputation management, and inclusive organizational cultures. He specializes in translating communication theory into practice through generative AI applications, equitable pedagogy, and visual design strategies. As a certified Hogan Assessments Coach since 2022, he offers services in public speaking confidence-building, organizational belongingness systems, and communication strategy development. He is a member of the National Communication Association (NCA) and contributes to the Tech Core Business Communication Program.
