Michael Maier is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta's Alberta School of Business, Department of Accounting and Business Analytics, and serves as Associate Dean MBA. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a BCom with Distinction from the University of Alberta. His research focuses on experimental economics, behavioral finance, and accounting regulation with applications in AI-based costing models and financial market analysis.
His research examines behavioral patterns in financial markets, regulatory impacts on accounting practices, and AI applications in economic modeling. Recent work explores information aggregation dynamics and market equilibria using agent-based simulations.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on market behavior analysis, with recent articles expanding into AI applications in finance and healthcare economics. Research employs experimental methods and computational modeling to investigate decision-making processes.
