Michael Magcamit

Dr. Michael Magcamit is a Lecturer in Global Politics and Leverhulme International Fellow (2024-2025) at the University of Manchester. Previously held roles include Lecturer in Security Studies at University of Leicester, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, and Assistant Professor of Political Science at Musashi University.

Recent Research

Current projects explore affect-based approaches to decolonizing peacebuilding in Southeast Asia through collaboration with Hiroshima University (IDEC). Articles demonstrate thematic focus on securitization theory, emotional drivers of conflict, and geopolitical power dynamics.

Teaching & Supervision
