Michael Lauria

Michael Lauria, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He holds a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University (2017) and a PhD in Physics and Biology in Medicine from UCLA (2022), where his dissertation work under Dr. Daniel Low focused on motion compensation techniques in cone-beam CT reconstruction, ventilation mapping, and biomechanical modeling. After completing his Medical Physics Residency at UCLA in 2024, he now extends his research into MRI-based motion modeling platforms and collaborates with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) to improve radiation oncology care in low- and middle-income countries.
