Michael L. Raymer is a Professor and Department Chair in Computer Science at Wright State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan State University (2000) and co-founded Forensic Bioinformatic Services, Inc. His research focuses on protein-water interactions, bioinformatics, and forensic DNA evidence analysis. He co-developed the first NSF-funded undergraduate bioinformatics program and co-authored the textbook 'Fundamental Concepts of Bioinformatics'. His work has been cited over 3200 times, including by the US Supreme Court.
Research interests include algorithm development for biochemical analysis, statistical methods for DNA evidence interpretation, and educational innovation in bioinformatics.
