Michael Konsolakis is a Professor and Associate Dean at the Technical University of Crete, affiliated with the School of Production Engineering and Management. He holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering (University of Patras, 1997) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (University of Patras, 2001), with postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on Materials Science, Surface Analysis, Heterogeneous Catalysis, Electrocatalysis, and Energy/Environmental Processes, including carbon capture, hydrogen production, and pollution control.
He has authored a Greek textbook, General Chemistry: Theory & Applications, and teaches postgraduate courses. He actively participates in national and European research programs, serving as a Scientific Director or Experienced Researcher. He has reviewed for international journals, contributed to conference committees, and been a national representative for the COST D36 Action.
Notably, he received the Best Presentation Award at the 2025 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting for work on dielectric nanofluids in power systems. His research group is part of the Materials and Process Science Laboratory.
