Michael W. Klein is the William L. Clayton Professor of International Economic Affairs at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Economics. He previously served as Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury (2010-2011) and is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He founded EconoFact, a nonpartisan economic analysis platform. His research focuses on international macroeconomics, including exchange rates, capital flows, and labor market impacts of globalization. He has authored over two dozen articles and three books, supported by grants from the Upjohn Institute and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
