معرفی
Michael Kavic is an Associate Professor in the Chemistry & Physics Department and serves as the Associate Provost at SUNY Old Westbury. His research focuses on astrophysics, cosmology, and quantum gravity, with a particular emphasis on topics such as dark energy, black hole dynamics, cosmic strings, and radio transient observations. He is actively involved in multi-messenger astronomy and uses facilities like the Long Wavelength Array (LWA) and ASTRA Radio Telescope for his studies.
Dr. Kavic's work bridges theoretical and observational astrophysics, addressing fundamental questions about spacetime structure, dark matter/energy interactions, and quantum gravity effects. His recent efforts include probing wormhole signatures via black hole observations and studying low-frequency radio emissions from celestial objects like Jupiter and pulsars.
He has contributed to collaborative projects such as IMPRESS-Ed, aimed at integrating research experiences into STEM education for pre-service educators. His administrative role as Associate Provost highlights his dual commitment to academic leadership and scientific research.
