Michael J. Soares

Michael J. Soares is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center with dual appointments in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He serves as Director of both the Institute for Reproduction and Perinatal Research at the University of Kansas and the Center for Perinatal Research at the Children's Research Institute, Children's Mercy Kansas City. His research program has established him as a leading expert in placental biology and pregnancy regulation.

Dr. Soares earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico and his doctoral degree from the University of Hawaii.
