Michael H. Grote is Professor of Corporate Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, where he previously served as Vice President for Teaching (2009-2011) and Vice President for Academic Affairs (2011-2020). He directs the Frankfurt Institute for Private Equity and M&A and co-presides over the Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation (FIRM). His academic background includes degrees in Economics and Political Science from Goethe University Frankfurt, where he also completed his PhD on Frankfurt's development as a financial center.
Grote's research examines corporate finance, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, and private equity, with recent extensions into blockchain applications and high-frequency trading geographies. His scholarly work demonstrates consistent focus on financial market structures, spatial economics of finance, and emerging financial technologies.
