Michael Gross

Michael Gross is Professor and Chair of the Department of Engineering at Wake Forest University. His research focuses on processing mixed metal oxides for electrochemical energy applications and studying student motivation in STEM courses. Gross investigates solid oxide fuel cell electrodes and develops multifunctional ceramic composites, while also analyzing situational motivation to improve STEM pedagogy.

His educational background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Gross teaches courses on materials processing and engineering education, and his lab employs techniques including structural characterization and electrochemical testing.
