Michael Green, MD, is a Professor of Medicine (General Medicine) and Director of Student Assessment at the Yale School of Medicine's Teaching and Learning Center. He holds dual roles as Director of Clinical Skills Assessment and oversees medical student evaluations. Dr. Green completed his MD at the University of North Carolina, an MS in Health Policy at Harvard, and postgraduate training at Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on medical education assessment methodologies, entrustable professional activities (EPAs), and HIV medicine training. He has pioneered competency-based evaluation systems for HIV care and contributed to national accreditation frameworks like the ACGME milestones and AAMC EPA initiatives.
Dr. Green's clinical practice focuses on HIV infection management at the Nathan Smith Clinic, where he also supervises residents. His awards include the Kimball Scholarship (2006) and the Stephen Huot Award (2018) for HIV-related contributions. He serves on national committees such as the AAMC Core EPA Pilot Steering Committee and previously advised the ACGME/ABIM milestones task force.
