Clinical Professor Michael Gaihede is affiliated with Aalborg University Hospital, holding positions in the Department of Clinical Medicine and Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is also part of the Center for Rehabilitation Robotics under the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on audiology, hearing aid technology, middle ear physiology, and medical robotics.
Key projects include the Center for Rehabilitation Robotics (2021–present), developing exoskeletons for severely disabled individuals, and the EXOTIC project (2018–2021), exploring assistive robotics using tongue-based interfaces. He has collaborated extensively on studies involving hearing aid outcomes, occupational noise exposure effects, and middle ear pressure regulation.
