Michael G. Mullen

Michael G. Mullen is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Stonehill College's Meehan School of Business, serving as Executive Director of the Stonehill College Inspire Finance Initiative (SCIFI) and Director of the Entrepreneurship Program. With over 30 years of experience in international investment research, corporate finance, and venture capital—particularly in life sciences and medical technology—he bridges academic instruction with Wall Street expertise from roles at Cowen & Co. and Bellevue Research.

His academic credentials include an MBA from Indiana University and a BS from Fordham University. Professional certifications include Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), with active membership in the CFA Society of Boston and CAIA Chapter of Boston.

Professor Mullen's research focuses span Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Venture Capital, Medical Technology, and Life Sciences, informed by his industry leadership in medical technology investment (ranked #1 by Greenwich Associates in the 1990s) and current role as Managing Director of Tarvos Capital Management, LLC.

As faculty advisor for the Stonehill Financial Management Association and chair of the department's Mission Strategy Committee, he mentors students through SCIFI and entrepreneurship initiatives. His industry engagement includes board memberships at Centelion S.A.S. (Sanofi), Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Theravance, Auxilium, and founding chairmanship of EyeGate Pharmaceuticals. He previously taught at Indiana University's Kelly School of Business and guest lectured on equity research and venture investing.

He founded and directs SCIFI to advance finance education, while serving on the Board of Advisors for Indiana University's MBA Investment Management Academy and Beta Alpha Psi (international honors organization for financial information professionals).
