Michael Friebe

Michael Friebe is a Professor affiliated with the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures (CAMP) at TUM and holds a full professorship in Catheder Technologies at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. As a Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellow (2013), he focuses on translational medical imaging and image-guided therapies. His work bridges academia and industry through ventures like Tomovation and NEUROMED AG, and he currently advises startups and medical technology funds.

His research emphasizes hybrid imaging systems (MRI/SPECT/ultrasound), minimally invasive procedures, and entrepreneurial innovation in medical technology. Notable contributions include patented technologies for interventional imaging devices and intraoperative radiation systems. He serves on multiple corporate boards, including Eckert&Ziegler BEBIG AG, and is a frequent conference speaker.
