Michael Freitag

Michael Freitag, formerly known as Michael Sünkel, is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Mobile Systems within the Faculty of Business Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences at the University of Bamberg. His work focuses on data management for sensor-based systems and distributed data stream processing in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). He is actively involved in the FutureIOT research network.

• Education: M.Sc. in Applied Computer Science from the University of Bamberg (2017).

Research Interests: Michael's research spans Data Management for Sensor-based Systems, Distributed Data Stream Management, and optimization techniques for Edge and Fog Computing. He also explores applications of machine learning in agricultural monitoring, such as analyzing sensor data for dairy cow behavior.

Recent Publications: His 2022 work on resource-aware classification in distributed IoT systems highlights model management strategies, while 2021 studies focus on IoT data-sharing markets and agricultural machine learning.
