معرفی
Michael Frantz Howitz is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Clinically affiliated with the Capital Region of Denmark (Region Hovedstaden), he practices at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology with locations in Hillerød and Copenhagen.
His research specializes in Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, focusing on salivary gland pathologies in children. Key interests include identifying early-life risk factors for salivary gland diseases and evaluating minimally invasive interventions like sialendoscopy. This work bridges clinical practice and epidemiological research to improve pediatric ENT care.
Recent publications demonstrate a concentrated research trajectory: his 2025 nationwide cohort study investigates environmental and developmental risk factors for childhood salivary gland disorders, while his 2023 safety-efficacy analysis of sialendoscopy establishes evidence for pediatric applications of this technique. Both studies highlight methodological rigor in large-scale clinical data analysis within pediatric otorhinolaryngology.
Dr. Howitz maintains active clinical-academic collaboration with researchers across Denmark, including Resende de Paiva, Sørensen, Foghsgaard, and Torp-Pedersen. His work contributes significantly to evidence-based protocols for managing rare pediatric salivary conditions.
