Michael Embach is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of German Philology at the University of Trier. He has held significant roles in academic librarianship, including Head of the Trier City Library and Archives from 2007 to 2023, and leadership positions at the Library of the Episcopal Seminary of Trier.

- Doctorate in New German Literature (University of Trier, 1986)
- Habilitation in Older German Philology (University of Trier, 2000)
His research focuses on Medieval and Early Modern manuscript transmission, particularly Hildegard of Bingen’s writings, and digital humanities projects like the DFG-funded full-text digitization of Trier-St. Matthias Abbey manuscripts. He collaborates with scholars such as Prof. Claudine Moulin and Martina Wallner MA.
