معرفی
Dr. Michael Ebeid is an Associate Professor in Anatomy at Midwestern University, holding appointments across multiple colleges including the College of Graduate Studies, College of Dental Medicine-Illinois, and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He holds a Medical Degree (MBBCh) and Master's in Anatomy from Assiut University, Egypt, followed by a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Creighton University. His postdoctoral training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center focused on cochlear development mechanisms.
His research investigates molecular mechanisms governing cochlear development, maturation, and aging, utilizing mouse genetics, ex-vivo culture, and imaging techniques. Current projects include studying PRDM16's role in cochlear development, ETV transcription factor impacts on organ of Corti structure, and aging effects on Schwann cell regeneration. His lab has identified novel phenotypes in Prdm16-null cochlea and ETV knockout models.
Teaching responsibilities include neuroscience courses for D.O., D.M.D., and biomedical sciences programs. He actively mentors students like Jemma Ibrahim (MBS), Karen John (CCOM), and Riya Patel (CCOM). Recently submitted an NIH/NIA R15 grant investigating aging's impact on Schwann cell regeneration.
