Michael E. Veal is the Henry L. and Lucy G Moses Professor of Music, Black Studies, and American Studies at Yale University. Affiliated with the FASMUS Music Department, his scholarly work bridges ethnomusicology, cultural studies, and sound technology, focusing on Africa and the African diaspora. His interdisciplinary research explores intersections of aesthetics, politics, and technological innovation in global music traditions.
