Michael Dulas

Michael Dulas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Binghamton University, where he leads the Cognition, Aging and Memory Performance (CAMP) Lab established in Fall 2023. His research focuses on understanding how the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex (PFC) interact in relational memory processes, particularly in healthy aging and traumatic brain injury (TBI) contexts. He employs neuroimaging, eye-tracking, and neuropsychological methods to distinguish healthy aging patterns from pathological conditions. Notably, his work demonstrates that healthy aging involves reduced PFC recruitment during memory tasks, while hippocampal dysfunction may signal TBI or pathological aging. He collaborates with Melissa Duff (Vanderbilt) and Neal Cohen (UIUC) on TBI-related memory impairments.

Teaching: Courses include Perception (PSYC 351), Prefrontal Cortex and Executive Function (PSYC 473A), and a graduate module on Memory (PSYC 511).
