Michael Dougan is a Doctoral Student in the Faculty of Education serving as a Part-Time Professor for Counselling Psychology practicum courses (EDU 6473/6474) across multiple academic terms.
His educational qualifications include:
- M.A. in Applied Psychology from Adler University
- M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from University of Toronto
- B.A. in Psychology/History from McGill University
His research employs phenomenological methodology to investigate therapeutic attending experiences among psychotherapists with ADHD. Core interests span affective/emotional development, contemplative and embodied approaches to adult/professional education, decision-making in clinical practice, and accessibility in mental healthcare training. He examines how motile affective experiences shape lifelong learning and development through relational, play-based pedagogical frameworks.
