Michael Don is an Assistant Professor at George Mason University, specializing in Creative Writing and Literature. He is the author of the short story collection Partners and Strangers (2019) and co-editor of Kikwetu: A Journal of East African Literature. His work spans fiction, humor writing, and creative nonfiction, often exploring themes of human relationships, cultural dynamics, and existential inquiry. Don holds an M.F.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. from Tufts University.
His research interests include contemporary fiction, narrative techniques, and the intersection of humor with social commentary. Don has taught at institutions such as Tufts University, Penn State, and St. Paul’s University in Kenya. He actively contributes to literary communities through roles like fiction editor of Porcupine Literary and co-founder of the Fox City Lit reading series in Fairfax, Virginia.
