Michael Constance Paranal

Michael Paranal is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Accounting at the Leventhal School of Accounting within the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He holds a CPA license and is admitted to practice law in New York, California, and England & Wales. With extensive experience in finance and law, he previously worked at Deloitte, Latham & Watkins, and the European Central Bank during the European Debt Crisis. He currently serves as Director of the Office of Culture and Community Success at Leventhal and founded programs like Guiding Exceptional Minds to Success (GEMS) and the Real-World Ready financial literacy initiative. He created the nationally recognized "Accounting Without Walls" Diversity Festival, celebrated in Diversity Global Magazine. His awards include the 2023 Diversity Champion title and the 2024 Filipino Young Leader Award.

Prof. Paranal teaches courses such as Taxation of Partnerships (ACCT-551T) and Introduction to Financial Accounting (BUAD-280). He earned a JD/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School, a Master of Business Taxation from USC, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Oxford.

His leadership extends beyond academia: he serves as Director of Advisory and Transactions for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s U.S. operations and has held roles at SpaceX and the NFL. His work emphasizes equity, mentorship, and fostering inclusive environments in accounting and education.
