معرفی
Michael Chini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, The Ohio State University. His research focuses on ultrafast laser technology, attosecond science, and nonlinear optics. He specializes in high-order harmonic generation in solids and gases, with particular emphasis on developing turn-key laser systems and advanced pulse compression techniques in molecular gas-filled hollow-core fibers. His work addresses challenges in carrier-envelope phase stabilization, spectral broadening, and waveform measurement in the visible-to-mid-infrared spectral range.
Dr. Chini's research includes pioneering studies on electron correlation effects in perovskites and ferroelectric materials, revealing new pathways for manipulating high-harmonic spectra through material properties. He has developed novel techniques for single-shot laser waveform measurement using solid-state detectors and explored thermal management in gas-filled fiber systems to enhance power scalability. His contributions to the LaserNetUS network highlight workforce development efforts in laser infrastructure.
Key projects include creating attosecond pulse sources compatible with commercial Yb:KGW laser amplifiers, advancing time-and-angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy tools, and investigating ultrafast phonon dynamics in topological materials. His work bridges fundamental physics with applied laser engineering, aiming to advance both theoretical understanding and practical applications of ultrafast phenomena.
