Michael Buckstein, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He specializes in gastrointestinal tumors, including esophageal, pancreatic, and hepatocellular carcinomas, employing advanced techniques like SBRT and brachytherapy to minimize radiation toxicity. His research focuses on identifying genetic predictors of radiation-induced side effects and improving outcomes for patients with inflammatory bowel disease-associated malignancies. Dr. Buckstein completed his MD/PhD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and residency at Mount Sinai, where he served as Chief Resident.
